Modernage is a forward looking, progressive and values embedded educational institution. It is striving hard to improve the standards of teaching and learning both inside and outside the classroom. Modernage has been founded on the principles of ‘development of happy and productive children’ and ‘taking everyone along’.
Established in 1986, by Mr. Abdul Wahid Mir, Modernage has grown consistently not only in quantitative terms but more so in qualitative ways. The positive role of Modernites in all walks of life in Pakistan and abroad is a clear manifestation of the efforts of its team.
The new academic session commences in the first week of March for all classes up to Matric and terminates in December while for the Intermediate level the session begins in April and terminates in the following March each year. The academic year from Playgroup to class 10 is split up into two terms of almost three and a half months each.

There are two major breaks in an academic year.
The summer vacation lasts for one month and the winter vacation is for 10 to 11 weeks. The yearly Schedule of Activities gives the detail of all the holidays and vacation observed by the institution.
The parents are informed from time to time of the coming days off well in advance. Beside all gazetted holidays, Saturdays and Sundays are observed as weekly holidays and Friday is a half-day.
Islamiat is taught as a compulsory subject for all Muslim students. The morning assembly opens with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by its translations in Urdu and English. On all occasions of religious importance, the opportunity is taken to organize such activities that will promote tolerance and spirit of mutual understanding in the students as individuals. Full time Qaris teach Hifz and Nazra to the students. Non-Muslim students have an option to study Ethics instead of Islamiyat.
Modernage conducts a number of co-curricular activities all through the year. Each child from Grade I to XIl belongs to a house. Through the House System an extremely healthy competition is generated. A number of events like debates, dramas, singing. painting, speeches, fancy dress shows, etc are initiated through the houses. A complete detail of all these events is available in the yearly Schedule of Activities.
Students are supported in the planning and execution of these activities. These activities provide the entire college community not only a chance of participation but also of developing friendships. The students are taught to bear in their minds that an individual’s skill level is not as important as the desire to participate and enjoy.
Modernites participate in sporting events for personal enjoyment, the love of competition and healthy exercise. There are teams of various games like badminton, squash, table tennis, lawn tennis, cricket, hockey, football, handball, netball, basketball and volleyball. These teams participate in inter house and inter college events. A special team of trained Physical Instructors and Coaches is available at all times. Besides, students are also encouraged in Karate and athletics.
There are two terminal exams held during the year in the last week of each term. The results and the examination papers of each child are handed over to the parents in a Parent-Teacher Meeting. Besides academics, the report card also shows the improvements/decline shown by the children in their character. The pass percentage in all examinations is 50%.
During the term regular class tests are arranged to assess the progress of the students minutely. The parents are informed from time to time of the overall progress and personality development of the child. The parents are always welcome to contact the school for any concerns that they have.

Special coaching classes for students of Matric and Intermediate are arranged during the winter break. Skill building sessions on how to attempt a paper, time management, study skills development, how to understand the demand of a question, etc are arranged. Daily written tests prepare students for the Board Exams and play a key role in attaining outstanding scores.
Modernage provides assistance in career planning especially to college students. The aim of career planning is to aid the students in making educated decisions regarding the selection of courses and analyzing their individual skills and interests.
‘Modernite’ is the periodical tabloid of the college which is printed twice every year. It is a successful means of communication that has provided the students an effective forum to express their views. It covers important events, news items related to Modernage, successes, achievements, contributions of students and teachers, interviews of educationists and many other items. E-Modernite is also issued on monthly basis.
Taking guidelines from the modern concept of Holistic Approach of Remedial Teaching, Modernage has launched a Remedial Teaching Program for the students of Primary and Secondary level. In this program the students are given exclusive coaching in English & Urdu reading & writing and Arithmetic for a certain period till they reach the level of their class. Help of parents is also sought to make these sessions effective for the participants.
All campuses of Modernage are easily accessible by public transport in Abbottabad. Also the school has its own transport system consisting of buses and vans.
